Massage Therapy
Massage is one of the supplementary treatments conveniently located at the Slocum Center. A licensed massage therapist manipulates muscles and other soft tissues, using pressure and movement to speed healing after injury and enhance recovery from disease. Massage releases endorphins and activates the parasympathetic nervous system.
Often, therapeutic massage helps people cope with pain that may result from using devices such as crutches, walkers or casts. Massage can enhance the effectiveness of other medical treatments and alleviates tension and anxiety.
