Therapy Center

At the Slocum Therapy Center, our professional staff will help you recover from an injury and improve your physical abilities and fitness. Our center offers comprehensive care for musculoskeletal rehabilitation, hand therapy and sports therapy, conveniently located with the other Slocum services.

In addition, the Therapy Center offers other optional services, such as massage and acupuncture. These services are provided by independent tenants of the Slocum Center, who manage their own practices and arrange insurance billing and payment directly with patients. Some treatments may not be covered by all insurance plans.

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapists combine specific exercises and activities to help restore joint and muscular function, strength and range of movement for sports and orthopedic injuries. Other goals include increasing mobility, improving posture and correcting body mechanics through nonsurgical and postsurgical rehabilitation programs.

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapists are Certified Hand Therapists, who have advanced clinical knowledge to address arm and hand dysfunction. The hand therapist evaluates and implements an individualized program for surgical and nonsurgical diagnosis. The aim is to achieve the maximum outcome for functional independence, so the individual can return to pre-injury activities in personal life, work and recreation. The patient and therapist collaborate to restore muscular function, strength and movement through exercises, therapeutic activities and specialized splinting.

Therapy Pool

Water provides buoyancy that increases the ease of movement while decreasing impact and pain. Water resistance helps condition the muscles without stressing tissues and joints. Many patients, including those who are post-operative, can benefit from water therapy.
