Brian A. Jewett, MD

Primary & Revision Hip & Knee Replacements, The Development of Technologies in Implant Design & Surgical Techniques

“I came to Eugene to develop a surgical practice devoted to the care of patients with arthritis of the hip and knee. I also devote time to patient and community education about diseases of the hip and knee and their surgical treatment. I've even found time to help launch a program known as Volunteers in Motion that provides surgeries to those who cannot afford them.”

Patient Testimonials

The doctor and staff were very caring. I liked being home instead of the hospital. They took excellent care of me. They were genuinely concerned. It makes me feel like a person instead of a number. I would recommend Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine to all of my friends.

Very pleased with my results from bilateral total knee arthroplasty staged over a year. Surgery on my left knee, in particular, was challenging, I am sure, due to the amount of bone loss that had occurred over the years. Dr. Jewett did a great job on both knees, and I had a fantastic outcome. I am more mobile than I have ever been, am now able to travel again and continue to work pain-free full-time as well as by the veterinary practice I have worked in for some years. Many thanks!

Dr. Jewett from beginning to end is the best. He gives you your options, based on what he sees in your x-rays and what you have to tell him about your conditions. You make your choice, and he follows through with you. What more can you ask? Thank you, Dr. Jewett.

Dr. Jewett has the best bedside manner of any doctor I have EVER seen. It was a funny and memorable appt., and I was there to talk to him about having advanced arthritis in both hips at age 43! If I need his full services in the future, I already have high confidence in him. He also comes highly recommended by people wherever I go; be it the dentist or my therapist.

I did a lot of research before selecting Dr. Jewett for my recent right hip replacement, everything from word-of-mouth to computer searches. I live over 70 miles from the Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, but it was so worth it. The entire experience, from pre-op to post-care has been so professional and compassionate; it was worth the travel. The surgery was terrific with very little post-op pain and rapid recovery. At 72 years young and with a collapsed head of a femur, I was not an ideal candidate but, no worries. Six months later I'm very active in the garden, swimming, and finding my stamina better than before surgery. I'd recommend the Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine without reserve.
