Hand & Upper Extremity

“I chose to become an orthopedic surgeon because I wanted to improve patients’ lives and help them get back to enjoying the activities they love. I believe each patient is unique, which is why I take a personalized treatment approach. After discussing a patient’s goals and desires, I work with them to come up with a treatment plan that not only improves their function and decreases their pain but also gets them back to living an active life.”

Dr. David Bear is available to see patients at our Eugene and RiverBend Pavilion locations.

“I really enjoy receiving care at Slocum, the staff are friendly and smart, and everything always flows very nicely. On this date, I arrived on time, was checked in promptly, and proceeded to my waiting area. I waited about 5 or so minutes and was called back. Dr. Bear's assistant was very welcoming, smiled a lot, and made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Bear arrived promptly, took the time to chat a bit, remembering a visit from an earlier date; he was very upbeat, let me speak of my injury, and then rendered excellent care. I think I will need to follow up with him again, but that will be good, I'm sure. Congratulations on bringing Dr. Bear to your practice, I was a patient at Oregon Medical Group, and he was absolutely a superstar there. I was in pretty bad shape, and he took great care of me; the three problems that he performed surgery on healed and have not been a problem nor have I suffered any residual pain or limitations on account of them. I couldn't have asked for better care, so when I heard he transferred here to Slocum, I requested him for care. He really is a very competent doctor and a very nice person. Thank you for the great care Slocum, Dr. Bear, and staff.”
