Favorite Activities

My wife and I are very happy to be members of the Eugene-Springfield community. In addition to providing a wonderful environment for our 3 children, it has given us easy access to our favorite leisure activities, including hiking, skiing, and spending time on the coast. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children, traveling, exercising, and watching collegiate and professional sports.

Patient Testimonials

I came to see if Dr. Shah felt that anything could be done with my right leg after an accident and two surgeries. Dr. Shah felt that nothing else could be done to relieve my discomfort and stability. Dr. Shah did recommend wearing a compression sock, and I have bought some and do find relief using them. I have also seen another doctor in another town who said the same thing Dr. Shah had said.

I saw Dr Shah for knee pain. Both of my knees will need to be replaced eventually. I contacted the Dr to have cortisone shot in both knees. Both knees were injected with minimal pain and great relief of inflammation and pain. I will return for the surgery as soon as possible.

My first visit with Slocum / Dr. Shah was very productive and thorough. I will definitely be seeing him for follow-up appointments in the future.

Dr. Shah is very trustworthy. He is very matter of fact and knows what he is doing and it makes me comfortable.

The coordination between Riverbend and Slocum for all things knee replacement surgery was absolutely fabulous! From the pre-surgical visit with the nurses and physical therapists to the impressive binder and DVD that was provided, to the 4 months follow up exam, everything went as expected and was sports medicine perfected. I suspect my favorite thoughts about the entire process has to do with making sure "expectations" and "limitations" were clearly known and understood. Throughout the entire process, there were no surprises, other than how well my knee responded and how my arthritic knee pain was gone with the first step I took. Granted I was swollen and medicated ..... :) .....but if you've wrestled with bad knees for years, that first step is one you won't likely forget. I would be remiss if I didn't mention how personal Dr. Shah was. You could tell he was incredibly busy, but once he came into the room and made eye contact with you, he was right there with you and it felt like I was his most important patient. I umpire college and high school softball and had doubts, at the young age of 59, if I'd be back on the field...but six months post op, I have my first games in early March and can't tell you enough how much I look forward to getting back on the field. Well done Slocum, 5 stars and a toast (or two) to Dr. Shah!
