Returning to sexual activity following a total hip or total knee replacement is a common concern that patients may be uncomfortable bringing up with their surgeon. The American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) published the following article that advises patients who have had total hip replacement surgery to avoid certain positions that cause extreme flexing of the hip joint, and sets realistic expectations for activity involving kneeling for patients who have had knee replacement surgery.
